Different leather grades

  • Full Grain Leather – The highest quality leather. Made from the top layer of the hide with the natural grain intact, making it extremely durable and able to develop a rich patina over time.

  • Top Grain Leather – The second-highest quality. The surface is lightly sanded to remove imperfections, giving it a smoother, more uniform appearance while still remaining durable.

  • Genuine Leather – A lower grade made from the remaining layers of the hide after the top grain is removed. It is real leather but generally less durable and does not age as well.

  • Bonded Leather – Made from leftover leather scraps that are shredded and bonded together with adhesives. It contains only a small percentage of real leather and is the least durable option.

H B Leather Goods only uses the highest quality, full grain leather available. We don’t believe in cutting corners to save a buck.
