Who is H B Leather Goods

For over twenty years, I worked in professional kitchens, long hours, constant motion, and an endless pursuit of craft. After stepping back and semi-retiring, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do next. Then I stumbled across a video of someone making a wallet by hand. I must have watched that same video a dozen times and something clicked. I tried it myself… and got hooked.

What began as a bit of an obsession became a hobby, and that hobby slowly grew into a business. I’ve always loved making things for people, working with my hands, and creating something useful that has a bit of soul in it. Leathercraft has given me that in a new and deeply fulfilling way. If it weren’t for my friends and family believing in my craft, I would not be where I am today.

H B Leather Goods is named after my sister, Holly, who passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrhythmia at just 30 years old. My wife says that Holly visits her in the form of hummingbirds, so the name and the hummingbird logo came naturally— a small, beautiful way to honor her memory.

Every piece I make is crafted by hand, with intention and care. This work is more than a business; it’s a continuation of a lifetime of craft and a tribute to someone I love and miss dearly!
